CookieCrumbs Petaling Street is the shop behind the queue you’ll spot the moment you step into Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown — a New York–style soft cookie stand right at the entrance to Petaling Street Night Market. As Kuala Lumpur residents, we stopped by while walking from Kwai Chai Hong toward RexKL, and the wait turned out to be worth it.

Before trying one, our first thought was that the price felt steep for a single cookie. But after tasting it, the appeal made sense — the rich, thick, dense texture is genuinely different from a standard cookie, and filling enough that one cookie works well as a full snack.

2) A surprise on the special menu: Injeolmi
Then we spotted Injeolmi — a flavor named after a traditional Korean rice cake — on the special menu, and honestly, we were surprised anyone here knew about it. We’d originally planned to order a bestseller pistachio cookie plus a sea salt flavor, but once we saw Injeolmi on the special board, we couldn’t just walk away. In the end, we went with the bestseller Pistachio and the special Injeolmi.
Pistachio was nutty with a rich, sweet finish. Injeolmi carried the toasted soybean-powder aroma of the real dessert, and felt surprisingly well-suited to Korean palates. We shared both between us and wished we’d bought extra.
Flavor lineups rotate by season, spanning chocolate, matcha, white chocolate, and pistachio among other rich options. Because the flavors run rich and sweet, first-time visitors sensitive to sugar may want to start with just one or two rather than a full box — the bestseller board is a good place to start if you’re undecided.

We drove on this trip, but for travelers relying on public transport, the easiest way in is Pasar Seni station, an interchange between the LRT Kelana Jaya Line and the MRT Kajang Line — so whichever line you’re on, this is the stop. From KL Sentral, it’s a single stop on the Kelana Jaya Line with no transfer, about 4 minutes. Once you exit toward Chinatown/Petaling Street, it’s roughly a 5-minute walk to CookieCrumbs at the entrance of the night market.
