Angsana Teluk Bahang Breakfast Buffet: What’s on the Menu?
Jendela is Angsana Teluk Bahang’s signature all-day dining restaurant, offering a relaxed yet elegant setting where guests can savour local Penang specialities, regional favourites, and international classics from sunrise to sundown. At breakfast, this translates into a spread that covers a genuinely broad range of cuisines without feeling padded or repetitive. Angsana

Western Classics
The standard hotel breakfast staples are all present and well-executed: made-to-order omelettes, sausages, a full bread and pastry selection, and rotating hot dishes. Nothing here will surprise a seasoned hotel breakfast traveller, but the execution is reliable and consistent.

Malaysian & Local Highlights
This is where the breakfast earns its place. The spread includes Nasi Lemak — Malaysia’s most iconic breakfast dish, served with sambal, anchovies, and egg — alongside Roti Canai, the flaky Indian-influenced flatbread that’s become a staple across the country. Both are made fresh, not pre-packaged, which makes a meaningful difference.

As Malaysia is a predominantly Muslim country, all meat on the buffet is halal — no pork products are served anywhere in the restaurant. Chicken and beef step in throughout, and the selection doesn’t feel lacking because of it. For international visitors unfamiliar with halal dining, this is worth knowing upfront.
The Fried Chicken — A Word of Warning
There is a freshly fried chicken station at the buffet. Our children declared it tasted exactly like Korean fried chicken, which in our household is about the highest praise a piece of chicken can receive. The problem: it sells out almost instantly after each batch is placed out. We attempted to get some multiple times across the morning and missed every single batch. Watch that station carefully and move quickly when a fresh round lands.
Beverages
Coffee, tea, fresh juice, and local drinks are all available. If you haven’t tried Teh — Malaysia’s version of pulled milk tea, brewed strong and mixed with condensed milk — this is the ideal moment to do so. Jendela does it well, and it’s the kind of drink that makes you understand why Malaysians are devoted to it.

Desserts, Bakery & Fruit
The dessert and bakery section is substantial enough to serve as a full breakfast on its own — a wide selection of pastries, tropical fruit, and sweet items rounds out the spread nicely. It’s a particularly good section for younger or more selective eaters.

Kids’ Corner — Honest Assessment
There is a dedicated kids’ section in the buffet. In our experience, it’s underwhelming — the variety is limited and did not appeal to our children at all. They bypassed it entirely in favour of the main buffet. Don’t factor the kids’ corner into your decision to visit; treat it as a minor add-on rather than a feature.
The Setting: Breakfast with One of Penang’s Best Views
The physical setting of Jendela elevates the meal considerably. The restaurant opens directly onto the infinity pool, and beyond it, the full expanse of the Andaman Sea stretches to the horizon. Eating breakfast with that view — particularly in the early morning when the light is still soft and the pool is quiet — is one of those moments that justifies the five-star price.
Tables are available both indoors (air-conditioned) and on the terrace closer to the pool. The terrace is the better choice for the first half of breakfast; move indoors as the morning heat builds.
The morning we stayed, the children woke up and immediately called their friends in the neighbouring room — the kind of spontaneous joy that happens when families travel together. By the time we made it down to Jendela, the kids had already claimed their own table and were independently loading their plates and consulting each other on what to try next. The older ones helped the younger ones with hot dishes. It made for a genuinely relaxed morning for the adults — and decent blog photos, too.
Can Non-Guests Use the Jendela Breakfast Buffet?
Yes, and this is genuinely useful to know. The walk-in breakfast buffet is approximately RM 72 nett per adult and RM 36 nett per child aged 6 to 10 years old. We’ve visited purely for breakfast on separate occasions when not staying overnight, and at that price point, it compares favourably to a quality brunch at most Penang restaurants — with the added benefit of the sea view and resort atmosphere. Accor ALL Members: What’s Still Valid in 2025
This section is worth reading carefully if you’re an Accor ALL member, as the benefit structure has changed.
✅ Accor ALL Platinum — Free Breakfast: STILL VALID
Accor ALL Platinum members receive complimentary breakfast at all Asia-Pacific hotels every day of the week. Malaysia is included in the Asia-Pacific region. This benefit remains fully in place at Angsana Teluk Bahang. We enjoyed complimentary breakfast as Platinum members during our stay, and this continues to be one of the most valuable perks of holding Platinum status in this region. Angsana
❌ Accor ALL Dining Discount (up to 50%): NO LONGER VALID
Previously, Accor ALL and Accor+ members could receive significant dining discounts at Jendela — up to 50% off for two guests in some cases, which made standalone breakfast visits exceptionally good value. As of 2025, this dining discount is no longer applicable at Angsana Teluk Bahang. This was confirmed via the Accor website and is an important change if you’ve visited under the old discount structure before.
✅ Best Available Rate with Breakfast Package
Guests booking the Best Available Rate with Breakfast package receive daily breakfast for two at Jendela, complimentary breakfast for children under 6, and a 15% saving on dining at Jendela, excluding in-room dining and alcoholic beverages. This package remains a strong option if breakfast is a priority for your stay. Hotels.com
What Else Does Jendela Offer Beyond Breakfast?
We’ll be covering this in more detail in an upcoming post, but it’s worth flagging here: Jendela is not just a breakfast venue. As the resort’s all-day dining restaurant, Jendela also runs themed dinner buffets on weekends — a Peranakan and BBQ spread on Fridays, freshly grilled seafood and Japanese sashimi on Saturdays, and a Sunday Brunch from 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Angsana
We’ve also had lunch here on a separate visit — sitting poolside at Jendela with the Andaman Sea in front of you is a dining experience that goes well beyond the food itself. We’ll have a full Jendela lunch review coming up soon, so stay tuned if you’re planning a visit.
Practical Tips for Breakfast at Jendela
- Arrive by 9:30 AM at the latest. Replenishment stops around 10:00 AM and the selection thins noticeably in the final stretch.
- Watch the fried chicken station. Fresh batches disappear within minutes — position yourself nearby and be ready to move.
- Try the local dishes before the Western section. Nasi Lemak and Roti Canai are highlights that shouldn’t be skipped in favour of omelettes.
- Order Teh. It’s genuinely better than the standard coffee setup.
- Sit on the terrace first. The pool and sea view in the early morning is the best the setting has to offer — move inside as it warms up.
- Skip the kids’ corner. Point younger guests toward the main buffet instead.
